Rapper T.I. Pleads Innocence Via Video
Mr. Christopher from Corner Stork Baby Gifts Blog with your entertainment news brief. Clifford Harris Jr, better known as T.I. to the rap world was arrested back on October 13th in Midtown Atlanta just blocks from the BET Music Awards that he was going to be headlining. Authorities said that he and his reps were trying to buy machine guns and silencers. He was released on bond on October 26th and ordered on house arrest and to keep quiet. Yeah well, that didn’t happen.
Apparently, T.I. got a hold of a video camera and posted a video on StreetCred.com. Luckily for him, the video made no mention of any of the details of the case or what happened, but the highlight statement of the video was that he said that he expects to to be exonerated of all charges and that he’s using the time to read, write and work on his new album entitled Paper Trail.
T.I. implores his fans and listeners not to believe everything they hear on TV and radio. Unfortunately, the case doesn’t appear to have a lot of room for interpretation. The public was not given any information other than T.I. wanted to buy machine guns and silencers. One would have to use a good bit of imagination to try to figure out how you play the innocence card to escape those type of charges.
If convicted of the weapons charge, T.I. could spend upwards of 10 years behind bars. One also has to wonder what in the world he could have wanted with machine guns and silencers that he couldn’t have gotten otherwise by simply asking or paying for it. So his fans have to smell that something isn’t right with this story and that there are big pieces of information being left out.
Hopefully for TI, this will be another case akin to ones you see on CSI where the plaintiff looks inescapably guilty, but then you uncover a major piece of the puzzle where everything starts making sense and you find that the plaintiff is not among the guilty parties at all. Unfortunately for TI, the Atlanta PD is not going to go to the lengths to uncover the truth that CSI Miami does.
